Saturday, February 2, 2013 is Groundhog’s Day. At the crack of dawn, the infamous Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators and Weather Prophet Extraordinary will tell us whether we can expect an early spring or 6 more weeks of winter.

Whether the weather turns warm or stays cold, we see it as a perfectly good reason to celebrate. Here are 7 reasons we think you should throw a Groundhog Day party:
7. It’s been over a month since the big New Year’s Eve party.
6. Think about it – do you need a better excuse to play grown up hide and seek?
5. Make it interesting – encourage guests to predict Phil’s prediction by dressing in winter gear or spring garb. Have a prize for the most creative outfit!
4. Have an all-out costume party. Punxsutawney Phil’s handlers dress in top hats and coat tails. Why can’t you?
3. Early morning cocktails. Because why not? Try a West Virginia Groundhog or a Tequila Sunrise.
2. Watch the classic Bill Murray movie.
1. Groundhog Day themed food! Who can blame me with this collection of Groundhog Day goodies? I’ve never wanted to eat groundhogs so badly as I do now.
Do you plan on celebrating Groundhog Day? What are your plans? Tell us in the comments!
