Rock A Colored Wedding Dress

And the bride wore… color?! You heard that right! Brides across the globe are tossing out the traditional white wedding dress for a more vibrant and modern version. Let’s break it down – Traditional white wedding dresses were made popular by Queen Victoria in the 19th century. This tradition is Western in nature, but in other cultures, brides often wear red, green, or yellow dresses to symbolize luck and prosperity.

With the world becoming more and more of a melting pot, cross-pollination of traditions is steadily on the rise and that includes changes to traditional wedding garb. So for Westerners, it may mean out with the white, and in with the color!

Pretty In Pastels

If you’re not quite ready to make the full leap towards color, opt for pastels. A dusty rose, pale blue, or mellow yellow is a great way to add a touch of color without being too overwhelming.

Dare To Be Bold

On the other hand, if you’re ready for it, then make the leap! Go big and bold with your wedding dress color. Fuchsia and emerald dresses are bright and highly visual colors that pair well with formal wear.

Flashy Metallics

Another hot trend in wedding planning right now is the use of metallics. If you love the look of gold and silver hardware, try adding this touch of luxury to your dress! You’ll be dripping in decadence.

Red Hot

Red gets a category all its own. It’s a bright, lively, and variable hue that just screams “wow”. All eyes will already be on you, so might as well make a red-hot entrance!

Back to Black

Last but certainly not least, go for the win with an elegant black dress. It’s perfect for the modern bride that spits in the face of tradition (when it comes to a wedding dress anyway). A black dress is slimming, looks great on everyone, and is amazingly formal. Make this your new favorite LBD!
