DIY Celtic Knot for Nautical Wedding Packaging

We love all the fun details that go along with a nautical themed wedding, and since we’ve been obsessed with pretty packaging for pretty much ever, we decided to add an extra special nautical touch to the favor boxes on our table setting. Our way of doing so? A DIY celtic (aka heart-shaped) knot. This knot was surprisingly easy to make and we love how it turned out! Get inspired by how we styled our celtic knot below, check out the youtube video that taught us how to make the knot in a few easy steps, and be sure to let us know your thoughts on this project, too. Plus, be sure to check out our beach/nautical inspired wedding collections including Anchored in Love, Tying the Knot, and Seashell.

Here’s what you’ll need:

To make this celtic knot, all we needed were a few key items including paracord, scissors, and packaging. We decided to opt for these blue pillow favor boxes — we love how much the color reminds us of the sea! The knot consists of a single piece of paracord and is made with a sequence of loops and weaving. Paracord is one of the best options for making the knot because of its thickness.

For full instructions on creating this knot, check out the video below! We found this video to be the easiest to follow and think you will, too.

Don’t you love how the knot turned out? It’s such a simple idea, but it definitely makes an impressible impact! Be sure to let us know what you think of this DIY project and don’t forget to tell us (or show us!) how your celtic knots turned out with a comment below.
