If you are anything like us, you like to host parties with as little stress as possible. With #NationalWaffleDay on our minds (August 24th!) we’ve been thinking about what steps to take in order to host a stress-free (and successful) waffle brunch party and came up with a list of helpful ideas that we thought would be helpful to all of you! Our biggest tip? Preparation. Because brunch is an event that takes place in the earlier part of the day, we suggest setting up as much as you can the night before your party. Your table settings, as well as several dishes and beverages, can be taken care of in advance and you should definitely take advantage of that to avoid a hectic morning before your party begins. Disposables
For your dining tables, we suggest setting up the night before using disposable plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. That way you won’t have to set the table the morning of your party, have an easy clean up, and won’t be worried about any dishes breaking. There are plenty of ways to make disposable items look nice – all you have to do is find a design that you love. We actually carry tons of disposables in a variety of looks. Some of our favorite items include personalized stadium cups, frosted cups, wooden utensils, personalized napkins, pretty straws, and our large variety of plates.
Large Waffle Iron
Invest in a waffle iron or pan that can make multiple waffles at once. This is a great time saver and here’s a little secret – you can cook other delicious foods such as bacon and eggs on a waffle iron too.
Set Up
If you decide to host your brunch party buffet style, then you can prepare the night before by laying out dishes for all of the items you will be serving. Try adding labels to each plate or bowl too – that way you’ll know exactly where to place each item when the times comes to lay out the food. Your guests will also appreciate knowing exactly what they are adding to their plates.
Recipes
As far as what to serve, we suggest providing dishes that are both sweet and savory – you never know what your guests will be craving after all. Aside from waffles, it’s always a safe bet to serve egg dishes, bacon, muffins, and fruit, but because we are focusing on a waffle brunch party, here are some of our favorite fun ways to serve them.
Create waffle breakfast sandwiches by using two waffles as “bread” and foods such as eggs, ham, and cheese as fillers. A toothpick in the center helps keep this delicious confection together.
We adore these bite-sized chicken and waffles. Use mini waffles (or slice a larger waffle into smaller pieces) as the base, and add a bite sized piece of fried chicken to the top. Keep these two together with a toothpick.
Dip mini waffles in melted chocolate and add sprinkles for a sweet and crunchy treat.
Create waffle skewers by using mini or cut up pieces of waffles as well as whipped cream and your favorite fruits such as strawberries and bananas.
Beverages
For beverages, we suggest including water, juice (or mimosas!), and cold brew coffee. Cold brew is much easier to serve than hot coffee since you don’t have to worry about it staying warm. Just remember to keep ice handy for the cold brew and mimosas too.
Shopping List
Last but not least, once you know what you are going to serve at your brunch party, make an organized shopping list. Split your list into sections such as “produce” and “deli” to ensure that you won’t be walking back and forth throughout the store. It’s so much easier and quicker to have your list organized.
