Attended a wedding over the weekend. A co-worker’s wedding, actually. So people from work were there, Beaucoup products were there, in fact one brand new favor had its big debut at the reception, while we got to see another favor in action at the ceremony. My colleague had shown tremendous grace under fire the last few weeks leading up to her wedding day with the usual last-minute mayhem many brides experience. So I was very pleased to see all of her efforts pay off in a touching ceremony, and a beautifully pulled together reception
Favors were the topic at my table. They usually do serve as a conversation piece, but given that the wedding favors and three guests at the table all came from the same company, it was pretty much unavoidable. Luckily, we got great reviews on the favors from our fellow guests. Several people commented on the personalized tissue packs from Beaucoup that were handed out at the ceremony. Mine certainly came in handy for me! I get emotional whenever there’s a father-daughter moment, being a daughter myself, and my eyes welled up, as they often do, when the bride walked down the aisle on her proud father’s arm.
The reception had a wine theme (she and her husband are wine lovers). Her place card holders were homemade out of a collection of wine bottle corks, the tables were each identified by a type of wine rather than a number, and for her favors, she ordered these clay-tile refrigerator magnets with beautiful wine-related artwork, their names, and the date of the wedding printed right on the clay. She packaged each magnet in an embossed favor bag, ordered personalized hang tags, and closed each bag with coordinating cooper and brown ribbon. It’s a great, practical, personalized favor. And as I was the last guest from my table to leave the party, I know for a fact that everyone bothered to take his favor home. My magnet is currently on my fridge, strongly holding up a mini stack of take out menus. I do love the practical favors.
That was the last wedding I will attend in 2005. A nice one with which to close out the year. So far I count five for 2006.
