Spring and summer are the perfect time to host a wedding that’s full of bright colors, and one of our favorite ways to incorporate pops of color is by mixing citrus fruits into the scene. From favors to bouquets, and decorations, there are a number of beautiful ways to include fruit in your wedding day. Take a look at some of our favorite ways to do so below, and be sure to let us know which of these citrus wedding ideas is your favorite.
What better way to have a citrus inspired wedding then by saying “I do” in an orange grove? The pops of orange will add such a special touch to your wedding photos, and you can bet that your ceremony will not only look but smell amazing.
To set the tone of your wedding theme, opt for invitations that have been adorned with an orange and leaf print. A similar design on your menus also makes a fun, extra touch.
Bouquets and boutonnieres
For unique bouquets and boutonnieres, mix a couple pieces of citrus fruits with your favorite coordinating flowers.
Escort and place cards
Incredibly simple to create, citrus fruits are a fun take on place card holders and escort card holders. Try taping cards with your guest’s names on them to the outside of the fruit, or slice the fruit in half and attach the place card with a clothespin.
Instead of (or along with) flowers, use fruit for pretty table centerpieces. You can lay them on the table , or add to a vase, basket or bowl.
To complete the look of your place settings, try adding a small branch of citrus fruit. We love the pop of color against the natural green of the leaves.
Drinks and treats
Inspired by the overall citrus theme, opt for drinks and desserts that have hints of orange in them. Personally, we’d love to try this blood orange elderflower sparkler or a cake that’s been flavored with orange zest.
When it comes to favors, we suggest giving guests an orange infused item. We like the idea of an edible such as this spreadable orange caramel or a practical item such as this handmade goat’s milk citrus soap. Use jars, boxes, or bags to wrap them, and don’t forget the personalized ribbon and labels.
