Engagement season is here and we are so excited to take part in all the celebrations! And to kick off the celebrations we shared this beautiful image on our Instagram. We got a lot of positive feedback on the image and had lots of questions about where to find this mug. So today, we’re sharing how we created this pretty DIY project! It’s so simple to make and such a cute way to show off your new ring. Keep reading to see how you can make your own!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A plain mug in your color of choice
- A sharpie in your color of choice
- A pencil
- A printed out template of the phrase you want on your mug
First, pick out a mug in your favorite color and print out the phrase you want on your mug to use as a guide. Next, lightly sketch the phrase onto your mug using a pencil – that way you can easily erase if needed. You can also use a set of adhesive stencils if you don’t want to free-hand. Once you’ve finished your outline, trace over the pencil with your sharpie. (The sharpie should wash off with some scrubbing and hot water if you don’t want to keep the phrase on your mug. You can test on the bottom of your mug to make sure the sharpie is the right color and that it washes off. If you want your phrase to last on your mug, use a ceramic paint marker and follow the manufactures directions to set the paint.)
Continue to trace over the outline with your sharpie until the font has your desired thickness and leave it to dry. Don’t forget to draw an arrow that will point to your engagement ring! Now all that’s left to do is snap a selfie of your new mug and new ring!
