5 Fun Ways To Make A 50th Birthday Party Special

Do you or a loved one have a 50th birthday coming up? Throwing a birthday party for adults can get tricky, so we decided to come up with a few ideas sure to make the party extra special. With that said, it’s time to go back to 1965 and start celebrating!

Make custom posters

Do you remember everything that was going on in 1965? We love how this poster includes headlines of popular news going on 50 years ago, including the birthday boy being born! Hanging up a poster like this is a fun way to inform your guests on what was happening all those years ago. An idea like this would also make a one-of-a-kind party invitation.

Have a theme

It’s always fun having a themed party. One that we especially love is our Aged To Perfection collection. It’s a rustic theme that’s perfect for any wine lover and is a great remind that we all get better with age!

Play music with a record player

Popular in 1965, record players are now making a comeback! We thought it would be such a cool idea to set one up at the party and play popular music from 50 years ago. (But an iPhone and some speakers work great too.) Do you know what music was popular back in 1965? Some of the number one hits included “My Girl” by The Temptations, “I Got You Babe” by Sonny and Cher, and “Help!” by The Beatles.

Use photographs to create decor

Sometimes a picture really does say a thousand words. Taking photos from the birthday boy or girl’s last 50 years is a special way to recognize their life. We love the idea of turning the photos into a numbered collage or a table runner.

Play popular ’60s games

What’s a party without some games? After doing our research, we realized that Mystery Date, Operation, Trouble, and Twister were all popular 50 years ago! These classic games are still around today, and we couldn’t think of anything more fun than playing than these with your guests!

What’s your favorite idea on the list? Are you throwing a 50th birthday party? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts with a comment.
