Themes are a great way to help you centralize ideas, and keep you on track. Themes don’t have to be elaborate (I am not suggesting you and your groom to dress up as Rhett and Scarlett from Gone with the Wind). They can be broad ideas that you incorporate throughout the wedding. Receptions planned around the season have a built-in theme. For upcoming spring weddings, take advantage of the basic spring motifs…flowers, birds, butterflies, the rain, etc. Think fresh and use fun, preppy patterns like gingham, or plaid. Seed packs, or bud vases are great favors. Or go with a color-theme. I love the look of monochromatic palettes. You can play with different shades, textures and accents to keep it from looking flat.
