Tip of the Day #2: Pre-scooped Ice Cream Saves Time

I scream, you scream… we all scream for ice cream! What we don’t want to scream about however, is inefficient party planning. I mean, YIKES! Who has time for that!? So here’s a tip to hopefully ease up inefficiencies at your next party.

Today’s tip is… (drumroll please) pre-scooping your ice cream! This sounds so simple and has us going “why didn’t we think of that?”.  This easy-to-do tip saves a lot of time and a lot of elbow grease. No more waiting for thawing, no more powering through rock hard ice cream, no more delayed desserts, no more melted ice cream scoops.

Try this out at your child’s birthday party. Have the kids create their own sundaes. Having pre-scooped ice cream at a party like this is crucial. You can pre-scoop different flavors too, allowing each child to create their own combination.

This tip is extremely helpful for dinner parties as well. After you’ve been slaving over the stove all night, the last thing you want to do is prepare a dessert. Make it easy on yourself, and tasty for the guests. Pre-scoop vanilla ice cream balls beforehand, and when ready, place into cups and pour espresso over it. Voila! Delicious, no stress affogoto.

The tip is pretty simple to follow. Here are the main points:

  • Line a cookie tray with parchment paper or taut saran wrap
  • Lay the pre-scooped balls on top
  • Cover with saran wrap and wrap tightly to avoid freezer burn
  • Store in freezer until showtime
  • When ready to consume, use a spatula to remove each scoop
