Honor Thy Elders, Make it a Vintage Wedding

Sometimes the best and most memorable weddings are those that follow tradition. Contemporary styles may be trendy for bachelorette parties, but getting married with a vintage theme is a great way to honor your elders.

A daughter who dons her mother’s original veil for her walk down the aisle can truly encompass that vintage spirit. And no doubt a grandmother would feel blessed to pass down her engagement or wedding ring to the bride. Both of these customs represent a passing of the torch, so to speak, and may create an even stronger bond between the bride and her family.

Around the wedding venue, be sure to place wedding photos of the bride and groom’s parents and grandparents.  The more generations you can cover, the more dramatic the effect.  Black and white or sepia-toned photographs give an extra sense of history. Not only will these snapshots add to the overall décor, they work as great conversation pieces as well.

For favors, glass photo coasters featuring black and white engagement shots of the newly married duo fit the scene perfectly.  One day, your photos may grace the table at another vintage wedding.
