Eco-Friendly Wedding

A month and a half late, but I am finally getting around to posting about my friend’s wedding back in late June.  The ceremony and recpetion were both held at the Holly Farm in Carmel Valley.  With an eco-friendly wedding agenda, the weekend featured locally grown food, wood wedding rings and activities right on the premises all for the purpose of minimizing our impact on the Earth.

Some highlights:

  • I loved the old photographs on clotheslines along with seating assignments.
  • the favors were rosemary or lavender sea salts in mini spice jars, so aromatic!
  • the ceremony was held under a giant tree decorated with hanging paper lanterns
  • delicious buffet dinner prepared with all locally grown ingredients
  • and an awesome ice cream sundae bar for dessert!

I LOVE ice cream and I especially LOVE hot fudge sundaes so the ice cream sundae bar was the biggest treat for me.  I piled on the hot fudge, whipped cream and toasted almonds…and of course went back for seconds!

What’s your favorite wedding dessert idea?
